Short-term EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an evidence-based treatment of traumatic experiences that utilizes eye movement or bi-lateral stimulation to facilitate recovery from the negative impact of traumas. EMDR taps into the experiences of the body and the subconscious mind since our conscious awareness is often just the tip of the iceberg of the impact of traumas. A common example of trauma recovery can look like reduced negative emotions and beliefs associated of the trauma memories. Many people find an increase sense of control of their emotional life.

Although protocol exists on treatment of the impact of chronic repeated traumas (complex traumas), I mostly work with traumas that result from a single isolated incident.
